You need to consider many factors before deciding on who should write your LOR. Should you approach influential, well-known personalities, or should you approach a relatively less known coach or teacher, who worked closely with you? In choosing your recommenders, make sure you don’t commit grave errors. This video tutorial discusses key factors to keep in mind while selecting your recommender. For academic pursuits: Approach someone who has coached you for a longer duration, is well aware of your progress, and with whom you share a level of comfort and understanding.
For professional course: Get your letter from your direct supervisor with whom you have worked on projects, and who knows your style of functioning.

Grishma Nanavaty graduated with an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Science from The University of Warwick after completing her GCSE’s and A-Levels in Hong Kong.
Grishma’s rich professional experiences span futures trading, investment banking, treasury management and diamond wholesaling with previous roles at American Express, Poten & Partners and The Dow Chemical Company in the US and Hong Kong. She brings her global perspective on education and careers to ReachIvy and is eager to share her experiences and assist students with their educational endeavors.
