The idea of the founding fathers to keep this university open to students from all economic background persists even today. The tuition fee for undergrads with family incomes below $125,000 is free. In addition to this if the income is below $65,000 then even the room & board charges are free.

Stanford University has a great student-to-faculty ratio of 4:1 with 2,180 faculty members leading the way. There are 90+ fields of graduate university available. Undergraduate students are allowed to change their major at a later stage if they realize a different filed is better fit for them.

The campus is a very lively place with biking being the most common form of transport. There are more than 600 student groups and around 11,000 students in the campus. Stanford even has a designated 'arts district' in the campus to foster art and creativity. Even the sports are actively played with 36 varsity sports and 32 club sports.

Almost all the undergraduate and a lot of graduate students live in 81 diverse student residencies. There are 8 dining halls and organic gardens to provide the best quality food to the campus community.

Stanford has it's 'Graduate Life Office' that helps students with various personal issues, financial problems, etc. They actively engage community to look for any worsening signs among their peers so that they make intervene and help the student. It's an important service which will help you navigate through your program.
