About:
The George Lucas Family Foundation Endowed Student Support Fund for Diversity was established at the University of Southern California in Fall 2016 with an initial $10 million endowment for students from underrepresented communities who qualify for financial support. African-American and Hispanic students in both undergraduate and graduate programs receive priority consideration for support from the Fund.
Students who receive this award are known as George Lucas Scholars or Mellody Hobson Scholars.
Criteria:
Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be in good academic standing. This award can be renewed as long as the student satisfies the eligibility criteria each year.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association endows USC School of Cinematic Arts with $2million to provide financial support exclusively to deserving international students who wish to pursue film studies.
