AMERICAN COLLEGES’ ADMISSION RATES DIP TO RECORD LOWS, BUT INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS GAIN
Applicants to US colleges this year are finding it hard to secure seats as admit rates under ‘early action’ have dipped to record lows in many institutes even as the number of international students gaining admission seems higher than last year.
Applicants are facing one of the most competitive admission processes this year as the number of applications have increased. Also, several students who had secured admission last year deferred their intake to 2021 due to the pandemi ..
Vibha Kagzi, founder of ReachIvy, an admissions consultancy, said that the relaxed requirements for SAT/ACT tests had prompted international students who were unsure about applying to foreign colleges to take the plunge. This would have increased the pool of international applicants in the mix.
