About Her

Garima Rana has read for a Master of Public Policy at the University of Oxford, Blavatnik School of Government and a Bachelor of Technology at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, Kashmere Gate, Delhi. She was also selected as one of 57 fellows for the founding batch of the Young India Fellowship Programme at Ashoka University, Sonepat. Garima’s interdisciplinary academic exposure gives her an insight into the demands and rigor of an engineering, humanities and social sciences education.

At Oxford, Garima graduated with an overall high merit and was elected to serve as the secretary of the student government. She received the Felix Scholarship, a merit-based full scholarship, awarded to only five incoming Indian students for a master’s degree at the University of Oxford. During engineering, she was one of the eight undergraduate students in India to be selected for the prestigious GE Foundation Scholar-Leader Programme and scholarship award in recognition of her academic merit and leadership potential.

Garima has worked with small and large organisations in the social development sector, including consulting for the Department for International Development (DfID), Government of UK at London, a Member of Parliament in India, and Ashoka Innovators for the Public at Bangalore, India. She was also placed in the reserve list for successfully clearing the UPSC Civil Services Examination, 2016. In her free time, Garima enjoys travelling, cooking, and mentoring students for a career in public service and social impact.
