“I can’t wait to get out of school,” we all exclaimed. Little did we know how we were going to crave to go back there. To spend another day complaining about our teachers. To spend another lunch break attacking each other’s lunch boxes. To spend another period bunking just to talk to our friends. To spend another day outside our home, among our friends in the boring school building. To see our friends once again. “I wish we didn’t have to wake up so early to come HERE,” we complained. Little did we know how much we would crave to be able to wake up early one more day just to go back THERE. To be in the same metro as our friends. To do all those silly things on the way back home.

This lockdown has changed so much. It has taken away our chances to see the people we love. It has done to relations what even years apart may not have been able to do. It has emptied our souls. It has hollowed our relations. It has destroyed bonds that we thought could never be destroyed. It has left us empty and alone.
Where does it end? When will it end? Will it ever be the same? Will I ever be the same? Is there an escape to this labyrinth?

Because if there is, we so desperately need it right now.

ReachIvy.com organized an online blog/vlog competition to provide people the unique opportunity to share their lockdown stories using their creativity. The competition met with a fantastic response from participants across 4 continents, and our jury has handpicked the Top 50 entries from them for the Popular Choice Award 2020!

The above entry has been submitted by Vanshika Bansal from Indore, India. She is an 18-year-old student of Bal Bharati Public School. Kudos to Vanshika for this beautiful piece!
